We were asked by Gensler in Chicago to design a panel fabric for Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America.
Takeda was established in 1998, with headquarter in Lincolnshire, Illinois. It was created to take advantage of Takeda Chemical Industries' growing international pharmaceutical presence. Takeda Chemical Industries was founded in Japan in 1781. Takeda's first product was insulin for treatment of Type 2 diabetes.
We presented different design concepts to Gensler, based on Takeda being a pharmaceutical company, their mission statement, history and logo.
A design using an abstraction of Takeda's logo was selected. The logo was unfolded and repeated in a way that it has a subtle reference to Japan, the founding place of the company. The panel fabric is called Intermittent Panel and is woven in 100% polyester, using a metallic yarn to add a subtle shine. The textile is reversible and is 66 inches wide.
